Color. Contrast. Clarity. The new P96 OdP with spectralight
Since developing the world’s first self-illuminating wristwatch for the U.S. Army, traser has been a leader in readability and functionality. The Bern-based watch manufacturer once again proves this expertise with the new P96 OdP Color, available in sand and black: for the first time, the dial features a rough surface texture that, together with the matte-black case and anti-reflective sapphire crystal, minimizes unwanted glare to an absolute minimum.
The deliberate use of colored elements ensures intuitive time reading: skeletonized hands and bold Arabic numerals either stand out in black or provide strong contrast in white and red. The inner 24-hour scale, typical of field watches, offers additional orientation, while the matte-black date window at 3 o’clock blends subtly into the clean layout.
spectralight: Color-Coordinated Readability, Day and Night
For the first time in a traser watch, the hour markers and hands stand out with remarkable color intensity – both in bright and completely dark environments. This is made possible by the introduction of spectralight, the newest generation of traser’s proven triaglight self-powered illumination technology. By combining specially manufactured colored glass with an advanced luminescent powder coating, spectralight delivers intense color saturation in daylight and optimal night visibility in blue, orange, green, and red. Its energy-independent luminosity provides constant reliability for years.
In the model with a sand-colored dial, the main indices at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, as well as the hour hand, appear in a bold orange. The remaining hour markers and the minute hand glow in bright blue.
spectralight elements in red highlight the main indices and hour hands of the black P96 model, reminiscent of precision measuring instruments. The minute hand and other hour markers feature trigalight elements that appear consistently white. In both versions, green spectralight capillaries at 1 and 2 o’clock indicate the crucial first 15-minute interval. Additional trigalight tubes on the second hand, beneath the logo, and integrated as insert into the unidirectional bezel – along with a luminous Super-LumiNova ring around the minute track – further enhance legibility.
Light in Construction, Heavy on Performance
The 44-millimeter case is crafted entirely from fiberglass-reinforced polymer, combining exceptional robustness with a remarkably light weight of just 70 grams. Water-resistant up to 20 bar (200 meters), the Swiss quartz movement inside ensures precise timekeeping under all conditions.
The lightweight case is complemented by premium strap options that ensure comfort in any conditions. The P96 OdP Color is available with a tried-and-tested black rubber strap or completely redesigned textile straps. Coordinated with the dial tone, a black or sand-colored NATO strap featuring a sporty stripe pattern continues the new color concept consistently. Equally consistent is the improved longevity of the textile bands. The textile straps also feature improved durability – the adjustment holes and strap ends are now reinforced with additional stitching.
The latest evolution of the P96 OdP demonstrates traser’s attention to every detail – bringing a proven concept to the next level. A thoughtful design, carefully selected materials, and the innovative spectralight self-illumination technology make the P96 OdP Color a true pioneer in its class.
An Outdoor Pioneer, indeed.
